Rita’s Gratitude

Posted on Posted in Alternative Health, Motivational

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving Week. I hope that you will take a little time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. We work hard for so many things, often going from one task to the next, always doing. We plan, prepare, work, finish one project then jump right into the next one, continuing the cycle again and again, usually without a break.

Although action is important in accomplishing tasks, we also need to realize the importance of appreciating all that we have achieved.

The early settlers did this each fall as crops were harvested and preparations were made for the winter months, Families, friends and neighbors would gather in celebration of their efforts bringing food to share, stories to tell; taking the time to appreciate each other as well as the bounty of their hard work as they shared a meal. They took time for each other and were grateful for all they had accomplished.

This Thanksgiving I hope you will take a few minutes out of your doing and just be, take a moment to reflect on the good things in your life right now. Write down 5 things that you are grateful for. Focus on these 5 things and celebrate what is right in your life right now. We tend to focus on everything that is wrong or missing from our lives. Choose to change these thought patterns and focus on what is right – no matter how small.

Practice gratitude each day and by the end of this year, your attitude will change.

Feel like a record needle stuck in a grove? Or a tire spinning on ice looking for traction? Or know you need to make a change in your life, but can’t because……
