In November of 2011, I had a little talk with my Doctor. He told me that if I continued on the path that I was taking, I would be 8 times more likely than the average man to have a heart attack or stroke.  He also said that I may not have a disaster like that, but that even if I lived to a ripe old age, my quality of life would deteriorate quite soon.

I was 5’ 9” and 190 pounds, and I was living a very sedentary life. It was time for a change. I talked to Rita, The Forest’s Personal Trainer, about a program to get me on a different path. She configured a program of exercises customized specifically to me, then continually changed them, so that now, I have a much more challenging set of exercises she leads me through. She is working on strength and balance with me. She is focusing on golf related exercises and on routines that will help me in my daily life. She also counseled me on my food choices; both quality and quantity.

Now, I’m 165 pounds, I’m in better shape than I was 15 years ago. My golf game has improved significantly; although, there is still plenty of room for further improvement. My Doctor has had no lectures for me in 3 years. I have more energy, more stamina, and more enthusiasm for life.

Rita didn’t do it by herself, but I knew that I wouldn’t be able to do it by myself either. She has proven to be a great trainer, coach and cheerleader. I can’t thank her enough for her help!

Sincerely,

Denny
